Helping People Understand Where They Stand
We started Silverpath because the information already exists — it just is not always easy to find, read, or make sense of. That is what our workshops are for.
Back to HomeA Small Organisation with a Straightforward Purpose
Silverpath grew out of a simple observation: a lot of people working in Thailand reach the point where retirement starts to feel relevant, and they do not know where to begin. The official systems are not impossible to navigate, but the language can be dense, the documents unfamiliar, and finding a starting point takes more effort than it should.
We set up in Karon, Phuket in 2019 with the intention of filling that gap with something calm and accessible. Not a financial service, not a legal consultancy — just well-organised group sessions that explain how things work, using language that does not assume any prior knowledge.
Six years on, we still run the same three core programmes. We have refined how we present the material, updated the reference packs as official sources have changed, and extended the employer programme to cover multi-session formats. The approach has stayed the same: one room, a facilitator who knows the material, and enough time to ask questions.
What We Are Here to Do
Orientation, Not Direction
We show people the landscape. We do not tell them which way to walk. Every participant leaves better informed and free to make their own decisions.
Transparency About Scope
We are clear about what we do and do not cover. If something falls outside educational territory, we say so and suggest where to look.
Steady, Unbiased Content
We draw only from publicly available official sources. No commercial relationships affect what we present or how we frame it.
Respect for Every Participant
People come with different starting points and different levels of comfort. Sessions move at a pace that includes everyone.
Our Team
A small, steady group — each person focused on making complex material accessible without oversimplifying it.
Marcus Reid
Lead Facilitator
Marcus has spent the past twelve years working with public-sector documents and adult education in Southeast Asia. He developed the original Orientation Seminar curriculum and leads most group sessions.
Nida Thaworn
Programme Coordinator
Nida manages scheduling, employer programme logistics, and the Thai-language reference materials within our reading packs. She ensures every session runs on time and every participant has what they need.
Anita Lomax
Content Researcher
Anita tracks changes to official documentation, updates reference packs, and writes the plain-language summaries that accompany each session. She keeps our material current and readable.
Standards We Follow in Every Session
A consistent set of principles guides how we prepare content, run sessions, and handle participant information.
Source Integrity
All content is drawn from official Thai government and institutional publications. We cite sources openly and update materials when official documents change.
Participant Privacy
No personal financial or employment data is collected during sessions. Registration details are held only for administrative purposes and not shared with third parties.
Scope Clarity
Facilitators are trained to recognise when a question moves into regulated territory and to redirect clearly — pointing to appropriate professional services without pressure.
Regular Content Review
Reading packs and session slides are reviewed every quarter. When official information is updated, we revise our materials before the next session that references them.
Accessibility Standards
Sessions are run in English with key terms explained in both English and Thai where helpful. Venues are selected for ease of access, and group sizes are kept small enough for genuine participation.
No Commercial Referrals
We do not accept referral fees, commissions, or partnerships with financial product providers. Our sessions have no connection to any sales process.
Why Plain-Language Workshops Fill a Genuine Gap
Thailand's retirement and social security framework covers a wide range of situations — employees in the formal sector, self-employed individuals, those with workplace pension arrangements through their employer, and expats navigating what applies to their particular circumstances. The information is publicly available, but pulling it together into a coherent picture takes time and a reasonable amount of patience with official documentation.
Silverpath's sessions are built around the idea that most people do not need a professional to manage their retirement planning — they need a few hours in a room where someone walks them through how the structures work, answers general questions, and gives them a set of documents they can refer back to. That is the gap we fill.
The Document Organisation Workshop sits alongside this: it does not interpret anything, but it helps participants create a filing system that means important paperwork can actually be found when it is needed. For many people, the challenge is not understanding what a document says — it is finding it in the first place.
The employer-facing programme serves a different but related purpose. HR teams are often expected to field questions from staff about retirement benefits without having had much formal preparation for it. Our multi-session programme gives those teams a common foundation and a set of materials they can use in their own internal communication without needing to start from scratch each time.
All three programmes are run from our venue in Karon, Phuket. Sessions are small enough that questions get answered rather than deferred, and the pace is set by participants rather than by a schedule. Nobody is expected to have done any preparation beforehand — the sessions are designed to be a starting point, not a continuation of something already underway.
